HELP

Application & Eligibility

What is a line of credit?

A line of credit gives you a borrowing limit you can use again and again (up to your credit limit). For example, if your limit is £1,000 and you borrow £200, you only pay interest on £200. With Drafty, you can draw money online or in the app and we’ll send the cash in under 90 seconds*.

Can I apply for a line of credit?

You can apply for a line of credit if you:

  • Have a valid UK Debit card
  • Have an active UK bank account
  • Live in the UK
  • Are over the age of 18
  • In regular employment – full or part time
  • Have a net monthly (after tax) income of at least £1,250

We check your finances, eligibility, and credit history before reaching a decision. We also run affordability checks to set a credit limit that’s right for you.

How much can I borrow?

You can apply for a credit limit between £50 and £3,000.

We can’t guarantee that you can borrow the amount you applied for. We’ll check your details and might offer you a lower credit limit based on our assessment of your ability to repay.

Will my application be approved?

We can’t confirm approval until we review your application. We use the most up to date information about you to make sure your credit line is affordable for you.

Why was I declined?

If your loan isn’t approved, it just means you don’t meet our lending rules for now. Things can change, so you’re welcome to try again in the future and we’ll look at your new application with care.

When will I get my money?

We send most Drafty transfers to your bank in under 90 seconds. It may take longer due to your bank’s processes. Check with them first, and if you still need help, please contact us online/ via chat, or by logging on to your account through our app or website.

Do you run a credit check, and will that impact my credit score?

As part of your application with us, we’ll check your credit file. This isn’t the only factor we use to make a decision. If you take out the line of credit, our check will be recorded on your credit file. Other lenders will be able to see that we made an enquiry, but not the outcome.

If you make too many applications with different lenders in a short time, this may lower your credit score and reduce your ability to get credit in the future.

If your application isn’t successful, our enquiry will be recorded as a soft search. You’ll be able to see it, but other lenders won’t. A soft search doesn’t affect your credit score or any future applications you make.

What is the minimum amount I can drawdown from my credit limit?

For Drafty flex, we give a minimum credit limit of £200 .Your first draw can be as little as £50. After that each draw must be £100 or more (up to your credit limit).

Credit Limit & Line Suspensions

How do I increase my line of credit?

We may offer an increase to your credit limit (up to £5,000 for existing customers) if we believe it’s affordable. We’ll tell you by email, SMS, or through the app, and you’ll have 30 days to accept. If you don’t accept, your limit won’t be automatically changed.

However, you can’t raise your limit on request if you contact us and ask us to increase it.

How do I know how much of my credit limit I’ve used?

If you’d like to see how much of your credit line you’ve used, simply log in to your account – either through our app or website.

Example: If your credit limit is £800 and you’ve already drawn £200, you’ll still have £600 available to use.

Remember, you only pay interest on what you borrow. You won’t be charged for money that’s available that you haven’t used.

Why has my line of credit been suspended?

Sometimes, we may need to put your line of credit on hold. If this happens, we’ll explain why and guide you on the next steps.

This could be because:

  • A repayment hasn’t reached us.
  • Your debit card has expired, so we can’t collect future payments.
  • Our checks suggest that keeping your current limit may no longer be affordable.

If you’d like more details or support, just log in to your account and chat with us, email us at info@drafty.co.uk, or call us on 0203 695 8072#.

Making your Payment

How do you calculate the monthly minimum payment amount?

We’ll send you a monthly statement showing what you owe and what your minimum monthly repayment is. Your minimum repayment is the larger of:

  • £50 (unless your balance is lower): or
  • 6% of the amount borrowed plus 0.19% daily interest.

How do I make payments?

You’ll need to make at least a minimum monthly payment of 6% of the amount you borrowed. If you’ve set up a continuous payment authority (CPA), we’ll collect the payment automatically each month.

If you haven’t set up a CPA or if want to pay more than the monthly minimum, you can pay via your online account. You can access it either on the Drafty app or the website.

You can pay online through these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your account and click on “make payment” or “pay loan”. This will show the loan you have with us.
  2. Choose how much you want to pay.
  3. Go to “Select payment method” (Google Pay, Apple Pay or Existing or new Debit Card)
  4. Enter your payment details to finish your payment.
  5. Alternatively, you can make a bank transfer to our account. Here are our details:

  • Bank Name: Barclays
  • Account Name: Drafty
  • Account Number: 93849228
  • Sort Code: 201990

If you pay by bank transfer, please include your Drafty account number (shown in your online account) as the reference so we can apply the payment to your account quickly.

Can I pay with Google Pay and Apple Pay?

Yes – you can pay by Google Pay or Apple Pay. Just log in, select the option, and your payment should show in your account within minutes. It’s safe, quick, and easy.

Changing how and when I pay

To update your debit card, please log in online or in the app – never email us card details. To change your payment date, chat with us, email info@drafty.co.uk, or call us on 0203 695 8072#.

You can’t change the date after your monthly statement has been sent.

What happens if I pay late?

If you’re late making a repayment, it’s really important to get in touch with us straight away. Remember, interest will keep building for longer than planned, which can make your line of credit cost more. A missed payment will also be recorded on your credit file, which could affect your ability to borrow. It’s always best to reach out to us if you think you might struggle to pay on time. We’re here to help.

Credit Reporting, Account Details & Protecting your Personal Information

How we work with Credit Reference Agencies

We check your credit file  when you apply. If you take out a line of credit, it shows as a record on your file. Too many applications with different lenders in a short time can lower your score. We also update Credit Reference Agencies monthly with your repayments. From time to time, we may run soft searches to make sure that we can continue to offer you a line of credit – these don’t affect your score.

We also update your repayments with Credit Reference Agencies each month. You can view your report free at sites like CreditKarma or ClearScore. Trans Union is one of the credit reference agencies used by us.

You can find more about them and other Credit Reference Agencies here: Credit Score Frequently Asked Questions | TransUnion UK

The data we have about you & your options

We store some details to manage your account and share monthly updates with Credit Reference Agencies. You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you at any time through our contact us page. Once our relationship ends, we only keep your information for as long as needed, then securely delete it.

Details about how we use your data can be found in our Privacy Policy which can be found here.

Avoiding Scams

We’ll never ask you upfront for application or processing fees. If you get a suspicious call, you’re unsure about, hang up and call us on 0203 695 8072#. Never share your details – instead, report it to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040, or through their online form http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud.

Please think carefully about whether Drafty is the right solution for you. This is even more important if you're in financial difficulty.  If we don't think you can afford to repay your credit, we won't be able to approve you. We'll look at your current finances and credit history before we decide whether to give you credit. Failure to repay could impact your credit file.

We are a lender and may pay commissions to credit brokers or other intermediaries who introduce customers to us. The amount of commission we pay can vary depending on the broker, the product offered, and the terms agreed with the broker. This commission is not charged to you and does not affect the total cost of your loan.
